Mr. Mason McCauley III Degree Black Belt is the Lead Instructor for Blue Mountain Taekwon-Do and Fitness. He is also an International Certified Instructor with the ITF, a Class B instructor and Class B Referee.
Mr. McCauley began his martial arts career studying Butokukon Karate in 1993 under Mr. Steve Sultemeier, III Degree Black Belt. Mr. Sultemeier moved from the area in 1994, and Mr. McCauley began studying ITF Taekwon-Do at Walla Walla International Taekwon-Do. Through the years, he has studied under Mrs. Barb Neylon IV Degree Black Belt and Mr. Jason Taylor IV Degree Black Belt. At the present time, Mr. McCauley is under Master Robert Wheatley, VIII Degree Black Belt, and President of the United States International Taekwon-Do Federation.
Mr. McCauley has had the privilege to train with many of the world’s highest-ranking instructors, including the Founder of Taekwon-Do, the late General Choi Hong Hi. He has also studied with Grand Master Choi Jung Hwa, IX Degree Black Belt, the son of the late General Choi Hong Hi and President of the ITF, Grand Master Hwang, IX Degree Black Belt and Grand Master Sereff IX Degree Black Belt.
Mr. McCauley has an extensive and impressive tournament record. He is a 2004 World Champion, 2-time Jr. World Team Competitor, International Gold and Silver Medalist, 4-time National Champion, 8-time Grand Champion and winner of over 100 trophies and medals. He has attended numerous seminars, tournaments, world camps, and demonstrations through out the world.
Dedicated to his love of the martial arts he trains 5-6 days a week. In addition to practicing patterns, kicking and sparring drills, he focuses on flexibility, plyometrics, weight training, running stairs, and nutrition for physical and mental conditioning.
